DES MOINES, Iowa – 'Hilarious' is the only way to describe "THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON?" as gifted actor/writer, Robert Dubac, ransacks his brain to answer the age old question, "What do women want?". It is a multi-character comedy with Mr. Dubac playing all the roles.

Having toured the country for seven years, THE MALE INTELLECT has garnered envious reviews from San Francisco to Toronto. The Boston Globe proclaims, "Robert Dubac is talented, entertaining and very funny!" The Los Angeles Times says, "The show elicits big laughs from both sexes in waves of treble and bass." while The Philadelphia Inquirer states, "THE MALE INTELLECT is adeptly conceived, refreshingly and comically stated and Dubac has no trouble keeping it up for 90 minutes." The Denver Post and Toronto Star both gave the show its highest four-star rating and the author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, raves "THE MALE INTELLECT is hilarious as it is thought-provoking…a brilliant show."

When the show opens we meet "Bobby" in a very confused state. Having found the girl of his dreams and having asked her to marry him, she gently dumps him. Why? Unable to answer this question he recalls some not-so-wise but nonetheless hilarious advice he received growing up with five chauvinistic male mentors. With a shrug of his shoulders, a hooding of his eyes or a crook of his neck, Robert Dubac seamlessly transforms himself into these five alter egos; each offering their own brand of misguided advice. They are:

THE COLONEL, who insists that the key to what women want is honesty, hence all men should admit they're boneheads so they always have an out.

JEAN-MICHEL, who says communication is what women want.… and communicating with double-talk and mindless metaphors is completely acceptable as long as you speak with an sexy accent.

FAST EDDIE, who gives women want they want - passion! But he doles it out from the fast lane professing men have to "love 'em fast and leave 'em first".

OLD MR. LINGER, who believes women want a sense of humor. He understands women can play hard to get. He also understands if a man plays hard to get – he doesn’t get anything. Old Mr. Linger’s idea of a perfect woman is a mermaid. Don’t worry, he’ll explain why.

RONNIE CABREZZI, who says women want a man who is sensitive and he thinks sharing secrets makes you sensitive. However, he quickly discovers it pisses off his fiancé, Lucy.

Bobby realizes that most of their advice is worthless but with help from his "feminine side" he is able to sift through the bad advice and discover the real answer to the age-old question, "What do women want?" And he does it all while drinking a beer.

Hailed by critics and audiences alike, "THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON?" is a rare thing; a clever combination of theater and stand-up comedy that is laugh out loud funny, provocative and thoughtful, all at once. There are two types of people who should rush and see it - men and women.

THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? is produced by Franzblau Media Inc. and is presented in Des Moines by The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines
