The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines presents events on three stages: the Main Stage, the Stoner Studio Theater, and the Civic Center's Temple Theater located in The Temple for Performing Arts.
MAIN STAGE AND STONER STUDIO THEATER
Located in the heart of downtown at 221 Walnut St.
Admittance to Theater The doors to the theater will usually open one half hour before the performance time or at the production management's discretion. Late seating is available as soon as possible.
Automated Access Doors Doors to the Ticket Office, on the Walnut Street side, are equipped with a door opening button.
Cell Phones, Pagers, and Recording Devices All guests are encouraged to turn off cell phones, pagers and other electronic devices. The use of cameras or any type of recording device is prohibited.
Children Children under five years of age generally not permitted in the theater. At designated shows, children of all ages are permitted; however everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket for a specific performance, including all children's productions. Please use your discretion when determining whether or not a performance is suitable for your child.
Lobby Chimes Lobby chimes are sounded five minutes before curtain time and during intermission. All concessions close at the sound of the lobby chimes so that guests may take their seats before the performance begins.
Elevators Elevators to the second level of the theater are located across from the west end of the Ticket Office in the skywalk area and across from the Guest Services Office on the main floor.
Restrooms Two sets of restrooms are conveniently located on both levels of the theater. There are also family sized restrooms on each level.
Safety The Civic Center regards guest and employee safety as our highest priority. If an issue is present, please notify a staff member immediately. In the case of a buidling emergency, directions will be provided.
Skywalk Access The skywalk access entrance on Walnut Street is open during Ticket Office hours and during performances. The entrance on the skywalk level, which provides direct access into the Civic Center, is open during performances.
Smoke-Free The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines is proud to be a smoke-free environment.
Ticket Office Hours Ticket Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Ticket Office will remain open through intermission on evenings of a performance. The Ticket Office is open two hours prior to curtain time on days of weekend performances.
THE TEMPLE THEATER
Located on the second floor in The Temple for Performing Arts at Tenth and Walnut Streets
