Group Sales Frequently Asked Questions
ORDER PLACING QUESTIONS
How many tickets need to be ordered to receive a group discount?
Group minimums vary per show. As few as 10 tickets to the same performance may be classified as a group and are noted accordingly on our Web site.
When can I make a reservation to an upcoming show?
Once a show has been announced on our Web site, you may make a reservation for your group. Estimate your numbers carefully. Please note that specific seats and pricing information may not be available at the time of your reservation.
Is there a handling fee with group sales orders?
A handling fee of $1 per ticket will be charged per order.
Is there a deposit required to reserve group sales tickets?
Yes. The Civic Center requires a 10% deposit within two weeks of the receipt of your invoice. Payment in full is due eight weeks prior to the opening performance of your selected show.
Is handicapped accessible or special needs seating available?
YES! Special needs seating is available upon request. Please let us know if anyone in your group needs accessible seating. Please call us to determine your specific needs.
Are hearing devices available?
Hearing devices are available for use and can be reserved in advance.
INVOICE QUESTIONS
What do I do once I receive my invoice?
If you need to make any corrections to your invoice, please do so as quickly as possible. Tickets can be added or subtracted at the time of final payment.
Can I receive a refund on my group tickets?
Group tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
Who do I contact if the deposit is not sent by the due date?
Please contact the group sales department to make other arrangements if the deposit will not be received by our ticket office on or before the due date listed on your contract.
Can my reservation be cancelled for any reason?
Ticket reservations will automatically be canceled without notice if scheduled payments aren't received by the due dates.
FINAL PAYMENT/TICKET DISTRIBUTION QUESTIONS
When are the final payments due?
Final payments are due eight weeks prior to the opening performance of your selected show. Please note, each show is unique and may have payments due at their discretion. If this is the case, it will be noted in your invoice.
How do I make my final payment?
The Civic Center requires that payment be submitted in one of the following forms: credit card, personal or business check or money order made out to The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines. Purchase orders are not accepted.
When will I receive the tickets?
Tickets will be mailed to the address on the account within 48 hours of receiving the final payment. Tickets ordered within two weeks of the performance will be held at will call and can be picked up at the Civic Center Ticket Office.
MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS
When does my group need to arrive at the performance?
Plan to arrive no later than one-half hour prior to the start of the show. The performances begin promptly at the time listed on the tickets; groups arriving late will be seated at an appropriate time in the show.
Are there any advertising/publicity materials available?
Please contact the group sales department if you would like promotional materials (based on availability). Approval must be provided by the Civic Center prior to usage, this includes show logos.
