BEYOND THE PERFORMANCE
IN-SCHOOL ARTIST EXPERIENCE: Exploring Dance
Exploratory movement workshops led by local dance educators will introduce students to components of dance and prepare them to experience a dance performance.
o Available prior to the performance
o Single session and multi-session options available
o Capacity: One standard classroom per session (approximately 25)
o Cost: $20 per classroom session
IN-SCHOOL ARTIST EXPERIENCE: Movement and Visualization
Local teaching artist Concetta Morales will lead students through an exploration of movement and visualization. Using gesture drawings, students will imitate shapes and forms found in dance and look at positive and negative shapes as an exercise to sharpen movement observation.
o Available: February-March 2011
o Duration: 2 sessions, 60 minutes each (first session prior to seeing the performance, second session after seeing the performance)
o Capacity: One standard classroom per session (approximately 25)
o Cost: $20 per classroom session
