APPLAUSE SERIES SCHOOL PERFORMANCE
THE MAN WHO PLANTED TREES
Puppet State Theatre Company of Scotland
GRADES 3-8 • CAPACITY 299
TEMPLE THEATER (Located in the Temple for Performing Arts, 1011 Locust Street)
Performance length: 60 minutes
This captivating adaptation of Jean Giono’s environmental classic follows a French shepherd who sets out with his dog to plant a forest, acorn by acorn. As they attempt to transform the barren wasteland, war rages across Europe and threatens the young forest. With its unique blend of comedy, puppetry and storytelling, and sensory effects creating scents, wind and rain, The Man Who Planted Trees is an inspiring and unforgettable story that shows us the difference one man (and his dog!) can make to the world.
Victor Award Winner (Best-in-Show) at the 2009 International Performing Arts for Youth Showcase.
