ON THE CIVIC CENTER'S MAIN STAGE
The Downtown Community Alliance (DCA) along with the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines are pleased to announce the lineup and event details for Lunch Unplugged at the Civic Center’s Temple Theater at the Temple for Performing Arts,1011 Locust Street in Downtown Des Moines.
Tickets are $8 and can be bundled with a boxed lunch from South Union Bread Café for an additional $7. Advance tickets can be purchased online now, by phone at 515-246-2300 and at the Civic Center ticket office at 221 Walnut Street in Downtown Des Moines. Tickets may also be purchased at the door 30 minutes prior to the show for $10. Lunch from South Union must be ordered online with a ticket purchase two days prior to the show. Concert attendees may also bring their own lunch to eat in the theater.

Electronic floor pedals allow Preston to record anything he plays live, and then layer multiple sounds on top of it, creating an entire song from scratch. Peru-born singer/songwriterBorn in Peru and growing up with a guitar in his hands, Diego’s talent as a musician began at a very early age. As a young teenager, he started appearing in a famous Peruvian television show and by the age of 15, modeling, singing and surfing were his charms. At 16, he took second place in the American Idol edition in Latin America, which was hosted in Peru. Diego is 24 and currently resides in Miami playing local venues and garnering quite a following with his intoxicating sound.

Iowa – based modern dance company, Co’Motion Dance Theater has been delighting audiences since 1978. Based out of Ames, IA, the company has toured modern dance throughout the upper Midwest from Ohio to Montana. Artistic Director, Valerie Williams, known for her quirky sense of humor, leads a company that values adventure, originality and staying on the cutting edge of movement technology.

Soul influenced singer/songwriterChris Cauley hails from Atlanta, GA and lives and breathes soul music. Chris has worked with the likes of Matt Nathanson, Amos Lee, 112, and many more. Chris was personally invited by writer/producer/director Tyler Perry to join the cast of his stage play "Laugh to Keep From Crying" on a U.S. tour. This comedic r&b/gospel musical received rave reviews all over the country. Most recently in 2010, Chris was invited to join the international cast of the world renowned Michael Jackson tribute show, "Man in the Mirror" as a feared vocalist.

Singer/SongwriterBorn and raised in Southern California, Karla Bonoff was a songwriter by the age of fifteen. During the 60’s and 70’s Karla’s voice brought her to open for sold-out, nation-wide tours with Bonnie Raitt, John Prine, James Tayler and Jackson Browne. Karla’s extensive career includes collaborations with Vince Gill, Wynona Judd and Linda Ronstadt. Karla’s talents have also been featured in the rodeo tear-jerker, 8 Seconds as well as the dancing-rebel flick Footloose.
