Diavolo— comprised of dancers, gymnasts, and actors— brings new heights and creativity to the world of dance. The company creates their performances collaboratively, drawing inspiration from the dreamlike sets that form an intrinsic part of each work. Everyday items such as doors, chairs, and stairways provide the backdrop for dramatic movement – leaping, flying, twirling – that create metaphors for the challenges of relationships and the human condition. This special performance for school audiences will contain excerpts from the company’s repertoire as well as emphasize the importance of trust and teamwork. Known for its accessible style, Diavolo is a wonderful company to introduce students to dance.

Beyond the Performance:
Dance and Movement Workshops
Teaching artist Valerie Williams will lead students through exploratory movement exercises and introduce students to the elements of dance -- time, space, and energy -- to prepare them to experience a professional dance performance. Experience occurs at your school and will be scheduled to occur prior to the performance. Single session and multi-session opportunities available to meet your school's needs. $20 per class session. Please note: all guests, regardless of age, must be included in the group reservation to be permitted into the theater. Because Applause Series programs are intended for school-age audiences, children under 3 will not be permitted in the theater.
