Coffee and Conversation
Following select evening performances of Twelve Angry Men, the Civic Center will offer Coffee and Conversation - a new post-show discussion series with dialogue featuring a panel of legal experts from throughout the community. This intriguing discussion will focus on the relevant themes of the play and relate them the jury system and high profile cases of today. There is no cost to attend and an RSVP is not required.
Discussions will be offered immediately following the evening performances on:

Coffee and Conversation takes place immediately following the performance in the Civic Center's West Balcony Lounge on the second floor.

The Art Center, in partnership with the Civic Center’s Betts Broadway Series presentation of Twelve Angry Men, offers an enriching program to film and theater enthusiasts alike. This collaboration features the 1957 film of the same name followed by a discussion of the legal and moral implications of this classic American story led by Des Moines Attorney Gary Dickey Jr.
12 Angry Men focuses on a jury’s deliberations in a capital murder case in which a guilty verdict equals the death sentence. On trial is an 18-year-old boy from the wrong side of the tracks who is accused of killing his father. In the jury room, eleven of the men quickly believe the boy to be guilty; only one has doubts.
